Grand Hotel celebrates the majesty of Titanic, May 13-15, 2011. It was April 10, 1912, when the “unsinkable” ocean liner made its first and final voyage, this spring Grand Hotel will turn back time for a weekend – becoming the doomed craft to celebrate the mystery and romance! Attendees will take the roles of actual Titanic passengers, their lives in the hand of fate!
Weekend highlights include a period fashion show, seminars with Titanic-ologists and other Edwardian themed events. Costumes and reproductions of Titanic artifacts will be on display, as well as a special screening of James
Cameron’s “Titanic”.
The weekend’s centerpiece is an interactive dinner theatre event entitled “The Last Night on the Titanic”, featuring the same eleven-course meal served to the First Class passengers as the last meal on that fateful night. It’s an elegant evening of gourmet food, wine, and music, with VIP’s like Molly Brown and John Jacob Astor among those at Titanic’s last supper.
At the end of the night, the collision will take place. Guests will find out if they “survived” … Will you be among them?

Do guests dress up in period clothing for the dinner?
This is our first Titanic Weekend ever Joy. Guests are welcome to dress in costume for dinner but there is no requirement to do so.
my daughters and I are attending and looking forward to dressing the part! We are in the process of making hats and have watched the movie a dozen times for inspiration!
Sounds like you will be well prepared Sherri. We look forward to seeing you all!
my husband and I are attending and think it will be fun to dress the part!
Working on our dinner attire now!!!
It should be a very fun weekend Roxie. I believe that many of our guests will dress in period costume also. Hope you have a great time!
Do you plan to host Titanic weekends again in the future? I would love to attend one.
At this time we are unsure if we will offer the Titanic Weekend in 2012. It was a big hit and it is very likely, however, we will not know for sure until the first week in November.
Please do the Titanic weekend again next year. We all loved it. So much , and I felt like I was really on a cruise all weekend.
I might not be able to afford flights etc this year, but I absolutely pray The Grand will do another package for Titanic! It’s so amazing and I REALLY want to be there one year!
I would absolutely LOVE to do this! Titanic is my favorite film and it inspired me to pursue a career in the film industry. Did lots of guests dress in Titanic garb last year? I hope you make this a yearly thing, I’m not sure if I can attend this year but it sounds incrediblyamazing! Are there pictures online somewhere??
Brianna, There is a photo album on our Facebook page of last year’s event. We do hope that you can join us sometime for this weekend.
What an exciting event. It will go well with the Bay View Music Festival Production of Titanic the musical.
Several of my relations worked on the Titanic when it was being built, and one of them was a Doctor on the maiden voyage, he drowned whilst helping others into boats. I find this “theme” of yours very worrying, Should they do the same for 9/11 event maybe, or any other disasters in the world? I think not. Tragedies should never become some sort of game to be played, show a little respect for the many who died.
